What is a Patriot?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Patriots were individuals in the thirteen American colonies who stood against British rule and fought for independence. In July 1776, their efforts culminated in the birth of a new nation\u2014the United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patriots came from all walks of life. Some served in local militias or enlisted in the Continental Army. Others worked as sailors, spies, or civilian leaders. Whether they lived in bustling cities or quiet towns, each played a vital role\u2014on the battlefield or behind the scenes\u2014in shaping the future of a free and independent America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
