The Sego Lily Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), welcomes you to our website!\"lily-all-three\"<\/a>In 1974, the Sego Lily Chapter NSDAR was established in order to create a chapter in Davis County. It was named the Sego Lily Chapter NSDAR to pay honor to the state flower of Utah. The following poem demonstrates why we found this name choice so endearing.<\/p>\n

“Sweet native lily of the western plains, to us you are a sacred flower.
\nYour smile gave promise that the wastelands, after awhile,
\nheld harvest hope for earnest toil and pains
\nof Pioneers who trekked uncharted ways to find a home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your graceful flower cup of creamy petals, outward curved,
\nlooks up to drink night’s dews and warmth of shining days:<\/span><\/p>\n

Your dainty markings, soft as velvet down,
\nblend into yellow gold from richest brown,
\nin depths of loveliness.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your slender stem and modest leaves crown you a flower gem,
\nlike you, our Utah gropes with eager hands –<\/span><\/p>\n

For food and beauty in the desert lands.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Meetings<\/span><\/p>\n

Unless otherwise noted, our meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month, September through May, at 10:30 a.m. If you are interested in attending, please email our\u00a0chapter regent <\/a><\/span>for a meeting location.<\/p>\n
