2023 Fundraiser Heritage festival
Mary Gillespie and Colleen Houston man the booth.                                                                                 This year we have had a lot of fun with our first fundraiser booth at the Heritage Festival! It was our best fundraiser ever!

A lap Afghan that one of our ladies crocheted for Veterans                                                                     Our gal Sondra made 16 of these beauties.  We have a very active Service to Veterans Committee and they will be distributed to Veterans in Assisted living and senior Veterans homes around Cedar City.

We also support the Women’s Issues Committee by Donating to St Martha’s Baby Basket Project and the Women’s Shelter on a regular basis. Below is our latest collection for the Baby Basket Project.  These baskets go to women who have just delivered babies at the local hospital and have absolutely nothing to bring them home in.

Our latest collection for The Baby Basket Project.
Signing our Constitution Week Proclamation is Mayor Green behind him is Deborah Leoni Vice Regent, Ailene Overly 2nd Vice Regent and Vickey Carlson Regent.

Constitution week is a big week for us as we do a proclamation to sign with the mayor and post it in our display case at the library and also we take constitutions to all the fifth grade classes locally and hand them out with a test which the teachers seem to like.  This year we handed out about 900+ constitutions.

At our 4TH of July Parade 2023 having way too much fun dressing up and presenting our float.  We actually took 1st Place.  So much fun.  This is the Commemorative Events Committee.

We are set up and ready for the Ceremony at Bryce Canyon.  What an amazing and emotional experience.  The stories the New Citizens relate give us a brand new appreciation and love for our country that it seems we can often take for Granted.

This is part of the Americanism Committee Activities.

We are at Bryce Canyon for the Naturalization Ceremony ready to welcome the new Citizens to our great country.

We often make blocks for the local QOV group called Patches4Patriots                     We are happy to work with the local QOV chapter and this is our latest quilt ready to go.

We work with Wreaths Across America covering Cedar City, Enoch, Summit, Paragonah and Escalante which the city of Escalante just took over.  Our Regent Vickey Carlson presents the award to Mary Gillespie,  our Treasurer,  who has been instrumental in growing the Chapters and local city leaders participation in the Wreaths Across America program.

Our Chapter was awarded a national award for Wreaths across America.

In addition to these committees we participate in the Flag of the United States Committee, Conservation Committee, National Defense and the Patriot 250.  We are actively welcoming new members and would love to chat with you.  We are a small but very active and committed group of ladies.   Most of the time it is all hands on deck but we have our team work down to a science.  I am sure there is something here that speaks to you or awakens a passion that you have never had time to indulge.  Now is the time.  It is never too late to begin a wonderous and fulfilling project.
