The Pony Express Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) was organized in 2020. Named after the Pony Express mail service in 1860, which delivered letters and newspapers between St. Joseph, Missouri and Sacramento, California via horseback. The mail service motto was: “The mail MUST go through!”
Organizing members saddled their horses, packed their mail pouches with hope, and ventured out into the wild frontier of Lehi, Utah, and its surrounding areas, bringing news to the area that a new chapter had been born. Our DAR Pony Express riders met often and assembled themselves around the DAR mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism, strengthening each other and ideally connecting to the 1860 Pony Express motto “the mail MUST go through.”
Four years later we are still considered a young chapter. We are not orphans like the Pony Express riders; We are a family. Please come and meet us. Let us get to know you and let us learn what makes you “Sparkle.”
